2010 Book Work - Nautilus Size closed: 8” x 10” x 2”, Size open: 8” x 15” x 15” - Aluminum sheet and bar
Nautilus is a unique, movable artist book constructed in aluminum that opens to create a model of a many-chambered structure. The dimensions of each cell, defined by the aluminum boundaries, were determined by a mathematical feedback function. The parts were designed using a 3D solid modeling software program. The structure unfolds by turning the knob at the top of the piece.
